I'm way overdue in sending you a note. We met at the HAWC conference last year. I read your book months ago and "better late than never" want to tell you how much I enjoyed the story and the characters. I'll look forward to your next one. Thanks for "Jilted By Death."

Jilted By Death is an exciting amature sleuth tale with a very unusual protagonist. She is a female pastor breaking new ground in a very conservative town, but she stays true to her personal values. Willa is so helpful, kind and selfless that she is winning over the townsfolk as well as the reader, rather easily. Readers who like a colorful tale without the red of gore find Lynette Hall Hampton's who-done-it a pleasant reading experience.

"Jilted by Death," is superb. I read it in one sitting. It's a real page-turner. You had me guessing all the way through, and I can tell you, you fooled me completely. The ending was really a surprise for me. I will be looking forward to your next novel.

What a wonderful book. I could hardly put it down. Goodness! Now I know a real live author. And I just thought your picture was perfect. You look more like a sleuth than Jessica Fletcher or Mrs. Marple. I thought the contents, the cover, everything was just perfect.

I have just finished reading "Jilted By Death" and it was great. A friend loaned me her copy and I could not put it down until I finished it. You must write another one so I can find out if Willa and Trent fall in love. I hope the book is in the bookstores now because I want a copy to keep. Your parents would be so excited about your book! I picked your book up at about 12 AM and it is now 12:45 and I am having a hard time putting the book down. It's good from the start. So I know I am in for a real treat through out the book. One of the characters is named Rose, now is that a coincidence or what? I don't take anything lightly in my walk with GOD!!! So thank you for writing the book and may GOD continue to bless you in all of your endeavors. Rose LeGrand - Winston-Salem, NC.

Elizabeth Hawn (February 12th 2004)

I loved Jilted By Death! I liked Willa very much and am looking forward to her further adventures and the developments in her love life, too. It's great to see a minister portrayed as a real person instead of a stereotype. The descriptions of places were very true to life, too. I felt that I was really there as I read about the town and its surrounding areas. And the good North Carolina food - I got hungry while reading about it! There were lots of interesting characters, too. Many of whom could have turned out to be the villain, but didn't. A real page-turner! It kept me hanging on till the end, eager to see "who done it" and how and why. Elizabeth Hawn, Trinity, NC
